  • E Casolani (of St Helens, Lancs.)  •  St Francis, Gorton, St Peter, Greengate. Casolani was Maltese by birth (1817-1885), and a lawyer by profession, but turned to stained glass painting, eventually becoming a student of the Nazarene painter Friedrich Overbeck in Rome. He emigrated to England in 1847, and worked in Ramsgate with JH Powell under AWN Pugin's direction.
